are preeminent piano teachers whose influence has been felt not only in New Jersey, but throughout the tri-state area. As Co-Directors of the Piano Teachers Society of America, they have brought the standard of performance to new heights among students statewide. Through auditions, recitals, competitions, and workshops, the Ferris consistently demonstrate their expertise, professionalism and wisdom. Many of the most gifted are selected to perform as competition winners at Carnegie Hall, and a large number continue to pursue music as a career.
Other organizations which have benefited from the Ferris’ contributions have been the Leschetizky Association, the Piano Teachers Congress of New York, the New Jersey Music Teachers Association, and the New Jersey Federation of Music Clubs.
is a critically acclaimed concert pianist who has performed in concert halls both here and abroad. For 15 years she served on the music faculty at Kean College of New Jersey. She has presented a variety of lectures and lecture-recitals at all the major colleges in New Jersey, as well as Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and the Midwest. She has given Master Classes for all the organizations listed above, and others. Ms. Ferri continues to be sought out as a coach for advanced students, concert artists, and piano teachers. She has been hailed by the New York Times as a “Gottschalk specialist” and has presented her exciting lecture-recital on this unique American composer in the United States and England.
has been a moving force in New Jersey’s musical life for the past thirty years. For many years he was the dynamic Auditions Director of the Music Educators Association of New Jersey. Later he carried these skills to the New Jersey Music Teachers Association (MTNA) which was revitalized through his work as Auditions Director and President. Over the years his creative spirit has led to the formation of cooperative alliances between various music organizations, and stimulated the proliferation of events and activities designed to encourage the private piano student. In the 80’s, he founded the Piano Teachers Society of America, the premier teachers’ organization in the state. Each year the Society holds auditions and competitions at Drew University, with the culminating event at Carnegie Hall, New York. Mr. Ferri is a former member of the piano faculty at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
